“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster.”
Let's talk about this awesome book and about some stuff that I have to mention about other things shall we?!
So I finished this book exactly on the same day that I started it... lately I've been quite busy with school and I have no time to read or to do anything else, basically my life has been school, school and more school and I'm always tired, so when I'm home, when I come from school, I don't have patience to do anything but sleep.
On sundays I have that time that I need to myself and sometimes (I mean always) I kind of use that time to read a LOT... and last weekend I used it exactly to read this amazing book that I think everyone heard about - 'Uninvited' by Sophie Jordan.
“Ironic. I'm here because of my inherent dangerousness, but it's my inherent politeness that makes me put up with this. With him.”
This book is about a girl named Davy and it is passed in 2059 or something like that (I read it somewhere but I can't remember because it was one week ago and the author mentioned it once on the book, so yes, I think you can understand me on that).
People have to do a test... if you are going to a new school you have to do a 'DNA' test, if you have a new job you have to do a 'DNA' test... if you have pretty much everything that's new (or sometimes not new) you have to do a test too. There's something really important about that test... if it is negative, then you are normal.... but if it is positive then you have Homicidal Tendency Syndrome aka the kill gene. Basically there are a LOT of people with that 'bad' gene, but they can't socialize with normal people, they can't attend school... they are rejected by society!
Davy is one of those people who has the HTS. She had a best friend, a boyfriend.... she had everything anyone would like to have, but when they discovered that she had the bad gene they rejected her too... now she's alone with people that she doesn't know.... she was sent to a room known by 'cell' with other carriers like her.
At the beginning she doens't talk with anyone because they are arrogant... everyone is arrogant, everyone is a killer... if they are not, they'll be sooner or later, but she meets a guy that protects her from a asshole and she meets Sean, he is badass but he has a tender heart and he'll do a lot of good things in the story (I can't tell you much because I don't want to spoil you, so if you want to love Sean as much as I love go ahead and read this book!).
“Leaning down, he whispers for my ears alone. “Prove them wrong.”
What I think about this book:
You can't even imagine how much I loved this book... I mean, I mentioned it a LOT of times but you'll never know how I feel about it for real.
I can assure you that this book was the best book I read this entire year. I read a lot of good books and pretty stories... I loved a lot of characters and plots... but this one was different. When I started reading this book I just couldn't stop, my clock was moving, the time was passing and I was not paying attention to the world, I could just see the book, the story, the plot, Davy and Sean... so I can honestly say to you that THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING and I recommend it to everyone because it is really interesting.
I gave to this book 5 stars as you probably know already but I swear that I would give to it much more if I could do it... I really want to give it 100 stars, and I'm not being exaggerated, I really loved this damn book!
Now I'm a fan of Sophie Jordan... I loved the way she wrote the story, I loved her imagination... I loved everything and I want NOW the second book of this 'series'... but, unfortunately, I'll have to wait...
