“The treachery of demons is nothing compared to the betrayal of an angel.”
First of all, I have to say that liked this book a lot! It was quite interesting... it was really different from what I'm used to reading, it was strange... and in my opinion strange is a good thing, so yes, this book was great!
Talking about the genre of the book... so basically when I bought this book I wanted a horror book, and I have to be honest, in my opinion it was not about horror at all (I didn't give to it those straight 5 stars only because of that, that was seriously the only reason why)... it didn't scared me... not for a second... the only thing that I think that is not advisable to sensitive people is the description of dead bodies... I mean that's not a big deal but the author describes perfectly a body cut into pieces (if you know what I mean... I'm not going to say much about the details because I don't want you to puke on your computer because of my beautiful and detailed description k'?)
“You asked about love. I don't know about love, Daphne. I just know I don't want anything but you. I don't want to anywhere but with you.”
I would give to this book cover a 10/10... it is really beautiful in my opinion... maybe because it's red, and red is a really powerfull color!
This story is about a girl named Daphne, she is daughter of Lilith and Lucifer and she has a bunch of sisters and one brother.
Daphne's brother, Obie, goes to Earth (yes, their home is in Pandemonium aka Hell) because he is in love with a girl... the problem is that they are demons and demons can't go to Earth just because they want to go. Obie disappears and Daphne goes looking for him and basically the story is about Daphne looking for her brother! Obviously that this book has a 'romantic' part, so even if she is a demon, Daphne knows a guy who will help her finding Obie (that guy is half demon and half human - just like Obie).
“Once, my mother told a whole host of angels that she’d rather die than go back to a man she didn’t love.”
I really enjoyed the reading of this book... I wanted it a lot and I finally got the oportunity of reading it (because it's October and it reminds me of Halloween) and I'm pretty satisfied with it.
I don't know what you think about 'horror' spooky readings so I don't really know if I would recommend this book to you or not... and why am I saying this?! I'm saying this because some people that LOVE horror want the books to be scary and creepy and all that stuff; and people who enjoy reading horror but don't want to be a lot scared (because obviously they want to sleep at night without thinking about dead people and demons) don't care if the book they are reading has more 'interesting' story than horror (do you understand what I'm trying to say?!... no? okay then basically if you want to be scared forget it, don't read this book because you'll not be scared at all... if you want to sleep at night but you also want a book that reminds you of Halloween then go ahead and try to read this book because it has a really interesting plot!).
