Synopsis: "An exclusive, signed hardback edition of Half Bad by Sally Green: the breathtaking debut novel about one boy's struggle for survival in a hidden society of witches.
You can't read, can't write, but you heal fast, even for a witch.
You get sick if you stay indoors after dark.
You hate White Witches but love Annalise, who is one.
You've been kept in a cage since you were fourteen.
All you've got to do is escape and find Mercury, the Black Witch who eats boys. And do that before your seventeenth birthday.
Easy."

“I thought that exile meant you had to leave your country and you could go anywhere--somewhere in the sun, a tropical island, say, or America. But exile doesn't mean that; it means you are banished to a specific place, and guess what, that place isn't in the sun and is no paradise, it's not even America. It's some cold, miserable place like Siberia, where you don't know anyone and you can barely survive. It's another prison.”
I didn't give to it 5 stars because, even if I totally loved this book I was expecting a little more... sooo, basically I'm waiting for the second book of this series to know what is going to happen... because now I seriously hope that Sally Green can redeem herself with the next book.
When I started reading this book I was kind of skeptical because I read the first four pages or something like that and I was thinking that the story was getting too strange, not because of the plot, if that makes any sense, but because of the way the story was being told. It was being told on the second person, so basically the main character was talking to "you"... ok, I know... I'm confusing your brain... I apologize.
The story... so what do I have to say about it? I liked it. The main character is a guy... I mean... a boy, since he is only 12 years old when the story begins, but I liked it... I enjoyed the characters, the plot... I can say to you that I like the way Sally Green writes... I don't love it, but I like it... I've read a lot worst. I think that it is a easy, REALLY easy reading... and I'm not saying this just because my edition of this book has REALLY HUGE LETTERS ... ok?
The reason why I picked this book was because: FIRST - it was signed by the author; SECOND - it is about witches and I like witches and magical stuff... A LOT!

If I recommend this book to you? OF COURSE I do... maybe I'll not recommend it to you if you are not able to read the second book right after the first one (I'm talking but I don't have the second book yet... it comes out in March I think...) because you'll want to know what is going to happen next... I know what I'm saying... I've been there... I MEAN... I'M STILL HERE!!!!!!!
