Maybe this will be an unpopular point of view since it seems that EVERYONE loved this book...
To be honest this was not a good read for me, maybe that's because I'm not a biggest fan of Chick Lit/Women's Fiction, maybe that's because the story is too sweet... and when something is too sweet for me I feel like I'm going to die of diabetes... so don't judge me, this is only my opinion.
“Push yourself. Don't Settle. Just live well. Just LIVE.”
Will Traynor had a tragic accident in 2007, and that (stupid) accident left him quadriplegic. Before something so horrible like that happen he was managing a multi-million dollar company, he had a really good life, he had a girlfriend and he was basically on top of the world. After the accident he became sad and he lost his will to live.
Louisa Clark is a 26 years old girl who worked a big part of her life 'serving tea' but now she got fired and she has a new job - bring the will to live back to Will (got it?). At first he didn't like her a lot (or at least that 's what she thinks), he didn't talk to her and he was always saying things that intimidated her but gradually they developed a relationship that turned into true love.
“You only get one life. It's actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.”
Probably my opinion is the only 'bad' opinion in the history of 'Me Before You' reviews... and I'm not criticizing the book... I really thing that this is kind of cute and I appreciate the strenght of the main characters... I just can not identify with them or with the story.
For me it was a really slow reading... I had to start reading another book while I was reading this one because I was getting crazy since I was not reading as much as I normaly do... so I was interspensing this book and the other book I was reading at the same time, and I have to admit that I was dead to finish this one so I could start reading something more interesting.
I didn't hate the story or the book... I liked it, but not as much as I was expecting to... so I gave it 3 stars.
