“I guess by now I should know enough about loss to realize that you never really stop missing someone-you just learn to live around the huge gaping hole of their absence.”
I read a lot of bad things about this series and seriously I don't think that this book was that bad, actually I liked it a lot... but, unlike me, everyone seems to dislike it.
Since this is a 'paranormal romance' I was a little afraid because there are some creatures that are like vampires and that kind of things... and I don't like vampires as much as everyone does... I like some kind of vampires but not all kind of them and I'm not a big fan of supernatural creatures... but, as I said before, I don't think that this book was cheesy at all... it was not an unpleasant reading... I really liked it and I really think that this was an enjoyable read... for all purposes there are no vampires in this book, there are immortals.
What I didn't like that much in this book (which was not a big deal) was the main character... for me Ever was a little annoying... but despite that I liked everything in the book... I liked the other characters, and when I say it I mean that I loved Damen... I really enjoyed reading it. So, please, don't let the opinion of the other people affect yours that much, because you'll never know the real story until you read the book by yourself and until you judge the book by yourself not thinking about the other people opinion.
“You never know what you have till you've lost it.”
This story is about a seventeen years old girl named Ever. She lost her family in a tragic car accident (her mom, dad, sister and her dog) and now she lives with her aunt since she was the only surviver in that tragedy because she was brought to life by someone (you'll know who by reading the book).
Before the accident, Ever was confident and popular, but now she's often branded a 'freak' by classmates. She can read thoughts and know parts of people's life at the touch, even if she doesn't like her powers.
One day, Damen joins her class.... she tries to ignore him at first, but she really can't so she gradually falls in love with him and everything changes.
Ever only has two friends, Miles and Haven. Miles is a drama queen. He adores being in the spotlight... He's gay and he's constantly texting his latest boyfriend; Haven is very self-conscious and she loves to have friends and always fit in the society... she's constantly changing her style.
