"I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love, with you". - Augustus Waters
Hazel Grace is a 16 years old girl who has a tumor, she is terminal, she is a "grenade". Against her will, her mother forced her to go to the "Cancer Kid Support Group" where she met Augustus Waters, a gorgeous boy with 17 years old who thinks that he is a "rollercoaster".
Reading this book was a really big emotional ride. I think that this is not a normal young adult book with endless "teenage drama" because I didn't find not even a little of teenage drama in it; but this not just about two teenagers who are fighting against cancer too, it is about living your life and understanding that we shouldn't worry about the little things, we should be thankful about it, we should be thankful for being alive, for that small infinity we all have.
"That's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt". - Augustus Waters
This was a F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C book that I've read some time ago but only now decided to write a review. It was obviously one of my favorite books ever, it was funny, it was sad... basically it was a life lesson for me and it should be for everyone, especially for those people who complain about everything they have and everything they don't.
I strongly recommend this book to everyone!!
