“Lets face it, you did steal me. But you saved my life too. And somewhere in the middle, you showed me a place so different and beautiful, I can never get it out of my mind. And I can't get you out of there either. You're stuck in my brain like my own blood vessels.”
In my opinion this book was kind of... shocking (yes, maybe that's the right word...) it's really hard for me to describe this book, what I felt reading it because it was really a mist of emotions and feelings... I loved it so much and I cried so much (maybe because I'm really sentimental)... I'm not really finding words to describe this awesome story.
There's this sixteen years old girl named Gemma. She's kidnapped from the airport and she's taken to Australia by a man that knows her for ages (even if she doesn't recognize him).
The captor's name is Ty and he took Gemma to a desolate landscape, with a house built by him.
Basically Ty (a young, beautiful man) loves Gemma more than everything in the world and all that he wanted was to make her happy... he thought that when he captured her he was saving her from her parents and the rest of the world... he tought that she was not happy anymore... that actually she was never happy... she was not like her parents... he wanted her to love him back because he wanted to keep her forever with him... he was planning it for years... he was watching her since she was 10 years old... but he didn't know that that was a bad thing to do... he thought that Gemma would recognize him since she talked to him 6 years ago, when she tought that he was just a random man in the park... maybe a homeless.
So this book takes the form of a letter. This is a letter written by Gemma to Ty... she was trying to explain him that what he did was not the best thing... she was trying to explain to him what she felt (fear... anger... and even love at some point).
“And it's hard to hate someone once you understand them.”
For me this story is awesome! I loved it so so much, I was mixing all my feelings because believe... reading this book is really emotional because you don't really know what to think... you don't know if you like the character or if you hate the character... and then you finally decide that you love the characters... both of them!
I was really confused reading it... I pitied Ty because I was kind of understanding what was going on and why he did what he did. I'm capable of understanding what happened in this story and this is really touching. It could be real, it could happen in the real life... I understand the both sides... I understand the fear that Gemma felt... the love that Ty felt... I can understand all the feelings... and the most impressive thing about this book is that it is written extremely well. This is an 'easy' read, this is interesting, the fact that it is a letter... everything is fantastic about this book! And if you didn't read it already than just go... just read it and feel what's going on, feel everything...
P.S: Not for a moment I thought that the intention of Ty was to hurt Gemma... I never believed that he was capable of doing that... because even if that love was kind of obssessive, for all the matters, that was love... and he was loving her and trying to protect her.
