“For God's sake, don't let her watch Cinderella. What kind of example is that? A mindless twit who can't even remember where she left her damn shoe, so she has to wait for some douchebag in tights to bring it to her? Give me a frigging break!”
I wanted to read this book for so long... I can't even remember the first time I said that I wanted this book because it was when I started getting interested in books... maybe one year ago or something like that, and this was one of the books that were on the top of my goodreads list... so you can imagine how much I wanted this book!
I started reading this book the other day, and I finished it today (it was a birthday present) and I have something to tell you about it... I LOVED IT!
I gave to this book 5 stars because I really really enjoyed it and because it was really funny! I loved the characters, the story, the plot... everything! I mean, I love NA but I was kind of afraid that I would not love this book as much as I tought I would because latelly when I think that I will enjoy a book that I really want I don't, and then I get really upset! But this was not the case... I wanted to love this book and I loved it SO SO MUCH!
The thing that I really enjoyed about this book was: this was the first book I read that the main character/storyteller is a guy. - obviously that in some books like 'The Edge of Never' by J.A. Redmerski or the second one 'The Edge of Always' sometimes the male character 'speaks'... it's like one chapter is the girl telling the story (her point of view) and the next chapter is the boy telling the story (his point of view) but this time it was different because all the book (the ENTIRE book) was narrated by Drew!
“Mackenzie raises her hand proudly. “I have a bagina.”
I smirk. “Yes, you do sweetheart. And someday, it’s gonna help you rule the world.”
So let's talk a little about this awesome book... shall we?!
The main character (as I said before) is a guy named Drew (as known as Andrew Evans). This guy is a real pain in the ass... (just kidding... I mean, he is, but he is a lot of charming and cute and hot and a lot of other things)!
Drew has a multimillion-dollar business with his father and normally he can seduce every girl he wants... bascially everyday he has a new 'girlfriend'... everyday he has sex with a new girl.
When the book starts Drew is in his apartement. He has been there for seven days, depressed and really really sad... he has a severe disease... he finally fell in love with someone! I know, I know... that's a good thing... NO, it's not, because that girl... that beautiful girl that he loves?! She's engaged and she'll marry another man! - BUT this is just the beginning of the book... the first chapter because the second chapter is passed 4 months before that first moment... so while you are reading you are understanding the story, who he is, who is that girl and why he felt in love with her!... and of course you will understand a lot of other things because at some point the story is passed in the 'present' again!
"See that guy - black suit, devilishly handsome? Yea, the guy getting the blow job from the luscious redhead in the bathroom stall? That's me. The real me.
MBF: Me Before Flu."
NOW I'll do something that I'm pretty sure I never did before... I'm going to talk about the cover because.... COME ON, you don't need an logical explanation, let's just look at the cover... LOOK AT THE COVER!! What do you see? Of course... that's a beautiful book cover... a really really beautiful book cover, and I swear that I'm not a perverted... it's just that, look at his body, you can automatically imagine Drew Evans because that guy on the cover is as 'good' as mr. Andrew! If you don't like NA books, or adult fiction... forget that you are reading that genre and just focus on the book cover... remember that you have 'Drew body' in your hands - I don't know about you but that is a really REALLY good thought in my opinion!
