Day is believed dead having lost his own brother to an execution squad who thought they were assassinating him. June is now the Republic's most wanted traitor. Desperate for help, they turn to the Patriots - a vigilante rebel group sworn to bring down the Republic. But can they trust them or have they unwittingly become pawns in the most terrifying of political games?"
“He is beauty, inside and out.
He is the silver lining in a world of darkness.
He is my light.”
I really really enjoyed this book, I think that it is not totally far away from the truth since our world is almost in war right now... I really think that this series is one of the best dystopian stories I ever read, and believe me... I really love dystipias.
In my opinion we are going to live what these characters are living in this storie, I think that it is a reflection of our society, a reflection of our government... I really think that it is not impossible to happen at all... and maybe it's quite radical to say but it is my opinion, and the truth is that we can't change it... I mean, maybe we could but in my honest opinion it is almost impossible to do it now since we are too close to this "new world".
Talking about the book:
I really liked the story, maybe I'm quite scared right now because I don't want to read the next book because I'm feeling that something "bad" is going to happen in it, and I hope that I'm wrong...
I liked the characters as much as I liked them in the first book... I mean, I'm obviously talking about the main characters... because there were some of the other characters that I liked in the first book and now I really can't stand them... I'm not going to mention names because I consider it a spoiler.
I enjoyed the plot pretty much... I enjoyed everything...
I just have one thing to say to you, I CRIED AT THE END OF IT! Sorry to tell you this... but it is the truth.
“You know, sometimes I wonder what things would be like if I just ... met you one day. Like normal people do. If I just walked by you on some street one sunny morning and thought you were cute, stopped, shook your hand, and said, "Hi, I'm Daniel.”
If you read some of my "old" reviews maybe you know that I don't like to review sequels... I don't know why, I just don't know what to say about them. So as you can imagine, this review is not going to be too long!
I just want to say that I really recommend this series to everyone... I only read two books of the trilogy and I have one left to read... but I'm sure that I'm going to love it, so yes, I'm recommending it to you because I know that I'm not the only person loving this story! I hope you like it too, I think that everyone should read these books.
“Love is illogical, love had consequences--I did this to myself, and I should be able to take it.”
I really enjoye book covers, and maybe that's the massive reason why I love hardback books and why I collect them. So about this one, I LOVE IT! It's quite simple but I think that simple is beautiful... and it has everything to do with the story... so yes, it makes me love it even more!
