“Money doesn't buy taste, personality, or common decency.”
I can assure you that this book is one of my TOP 10 of this year... I mean, of all the time! This is not my favorite book ever because I have another baby named 'Uninvited' BUT this is OBVIOUSLY one of the best books I ever read in my entire life!
This was the 68th book of this year, so when I say that it is one of my TOP 10 I can also say that it is one of my TOP 5... to be even more direct I can honestly say that this book was the second best book I read this year until now! Pretty radical isn't it?! So... it is saying much since I read a bunch of books before this one!
After all I said, needless to say that I gave to this book 5 stars but I really really wanted to give to it 100 stars right?!
“I’m not sure I want to go to prom. I’m not sure I want to share you with anyone.”
I never read anything like this book... it was different, it was perfect, it was cute... it was basically written by Jennifer L. Armentrout and when we talk about that AMAZING writer we don't need to say much because I really think that the opinion of the 'world' about her is unanimous, everyone loves her (I hope so, if you don't love her then I'll not judge you but I'll have to say this: you are from another planet! - joking!)
It took me one day to read this book... I know, I know... pretty strange! I have lack of time at the week but at the weekend I really like to 'put my readings in order' so basically what I'm trying to say is that when I have time to do anything, when I have time to myself, when I have time to read... (guess what?!).... I READ!
Like I said before, it took me one day to finish this amazing book which means that I really loved it! This story is different from everything else, it is a contemporary, romance but mystery and sometimes kind of creepy, so yes, it is basically a thriller too... and now that I said this you can ask yourself: OMG, Jennifer L. Armentrout is a genius... she writes romances, paranormals, dystopias, mysteries... anything else? - yes, I know... do you want to be like her?!... I've been there....
“I can’t believe you’re actually here. That you are with me.”
Talking a little about the story/plot:
This story is about a girl named Samantha (she's the main character). Basically Sam went missing at the same time at her bestfriend... she looses her memory and when she finally appears she can't remember anyone, she can't remember her name... she forgot everything, her parents, her boyfriend, her brother, her bestfriend Cassie... talking about Cassie.... contrary to Sam, Cassie never appeared and now Sam doesn't know what did happen, she just remembers blood, rocks, sand, water and dirt!
In the past Sam was a mean girl... she was popular at school, as popular as her bestfriend and her boyfriend. She was really mean with 'poor' people, she was mean with fat girls or skinny girls... she was mean with anyone who was not rich or popular like her!
When Sam reappers she comes a different person, she can't understand why she was a horrible person before the accident, actually she can't believe that she was that horrible person before.
While you are reading the book you start to understand that Samantha feels guilty because she can't remember what happened to Cassie, she feels guilty because she was with her, because everyone says to her that she was the last person that saw the girl... she thinks that she has the obligation to find her bestfriend... if she's still alive of course!
Eventually Sam will begin to recover her memory, but she's not alone! The only reason why she gets the 'strenght' to do it is the support of her brother, her brother's girlfriend (or her old bestfriend) and her brother's bestfriend - Carson (who was her bestfriend once too, actually she had a crush on him once!).
“I can’t believe it took me this long to be here with you.”
I think that the plot of this book is really really good because while you are reading it you are thinking that you know what's going to happen at the end of the story, but YOU KNOW NOTHING! You think that the bad guy is someone, and you start hating that 'someone' and then you change your mind and you start thinking otherwise... you start thinking that the bad guy is that guy that you loved before and then you figure out that that's impossible and your suspicions turn to the 'first bad guy' again... and at the end of the book, when you just think that you are a excellent detective and that you know everything.... NO, you don't really know anything... the bad guy is someone you would NEVER suspect of!
One of the things that is pretty interesting in this book 'are' the notes... Sam receive some anonimous notes telling her to not trust anyone... giving her clues... and you'll think a LOT of things while you are reading the book but you just know the right meaning of the notes at the end of the book...
ONVIOUSLY that I recommend this book to everyone! It was beautiful, it was an amazing experience and I think that everyone should read this book... If you already wanted to read this book, I can almost assure you (yes, because opinions may vary) that you'll not get disappointed with it! So go ahead... READ IT!
