“The important people in our lives leave imprints. They may stay or go in the physical realm, but they are always there in your heart, because they helped form your heart. There's no getting over that.”
What is this book about?
This book is about a girl named Lily, she doesn't have too many girlfriends and she's quite crazy... she was the person who left a red notebook full of challenges on her favorite bookstore shelf, she had an idea of make a new "friend", she wanted the right guy to come along and accept all of her dares!
Dash is a guy who loves to read but he is not the biggest fan of Christmas time. So he went to a bookstore and found a red notebook full of challenges... Lily's notebook of dares. He opened the book, accepted every challenge and did everything that Lily wanted him to do... basically they were perfect for each other.

“You think fairy tales are only for girls? Here's a hint - ask yourself who wrote them. I assure you, it wasn't just the women. It's the great male fantasy - all it takes is one dance to know that she's the one. All it takes is the sound of her song from the tower, or a look at her sleeping face. And right away you know - this is the girl in your head, sleeping or dancing or singing in front of you. Yes, girls want their princes, but boys want their princesses just as much. And they don't want a very long courtships. They want to know immediately.”
I didn't like this book... I don't know why, I just didn't.
I'm going to be pretty straight with you, I was expecting to like this book, I read bad things about it and I read good things about it... but I was sure that I was going to like it and that I was going to say good things about this story... but, of course, I was wrong!
In my opinion this book was quite cliché, I'm not saying that that's a bad thing, actually sometimes 'cliché' stories are the cutest ones, but I couldn't get into it, I don't know, while I was reading it I was always thinking that this story was too obvious, and we all have to admit that a good story can't be that obvious, all of us like a little 'mystery' sometimes.
Even if this story was supposed to be a Christmas story/funny story/everything bla bla bla story... I didn't find it interesting, the only interesting moment in this book was the beginning of it when Dash found Lily's notebook! I have to admit that I was getting pretty happy reading it at the beginning, but then I started getting bored, and when it is about me, believe me, that's not a good sign! I was expecting something more cute and funny and all that sweet stuff!
If I recommend this book?!... right, I don't know... I mean, I didn't like it but of course a lot of people liked it! So, probably the problem was not the book or the story... probably it was my problem and probably I didn't like it because I was not in the mood to read something like this... so, I didn't like it but you can obviously like it... so if you want a "cute", "funny" and Christmas story then go ahead and try to read this book, you have nothing to lose!
