Synopsis: "Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.
So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. They follow legends and local lore, destroy the murderous dead, and keep pesky things like the future and friends at bay.
Searching for a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas expects the usual: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.
Yet she spares Cas's life."

I really wanted to read this book for a long time. If you know me the you know that I actually LOVE horror stuff, I love horror movies, I love horror stories, I love horror books... I love pretty much everything about horror, I'm that creppy person who goes to tumblr or we heart it and search horror/creppy images... YES, that's me.
So, as I mentioned before I really really wanted to read these books ("Anna Dressed in Blood" and "Girl of Nightmares") since the first day I decided that I really wanted to start reading books in english... and I never bought them because I always have too many books to buy and little time to read them, but I decided that it was time to buy these books and to finally get to read this story. They arrived and I started reading "Anna Dressed in Blood" almost right away (not right away because I have a life... and I need to go to college as a normal person), and I have to say something to you... THAT BOOK BLEW ME AWAY.
If someone says to you that this story is creppy, then that person is probably lying to you or that person is really scared of EVERYTHING IN THIS ENTIRE WORLD (and other worlds maybe) because YES, this story is really interesting and the way Anna was murdered was pretty mad... and some parts of this book are pretty mad too because Kendare Blake decided to describe how Anna actually ripped bodies and persons apart... BUT it is not an intense horror story.. it is about a ghost but it's kind of a "cliché" horror if that even exists.
I liked pretty much everything about this book... I liked the characters (contrary to some people), I enjoyed the plot A LOT... I really loved Anna story (even if it is quite awful)... I really think that it is an awesome read and if you like horror books and you don't mind reading about ripped bodies and bloody teenage girls then I think that you should give it a try too !
So OBVIOUSLY that I recommend this book to everyone.
(I don't know if I mentioned it before in my previous reviews but I'll not review any more sequels... so maybe I'll just post a little tiny comment on goodreads about the book but I'm not going to review the entire thing... ONLY if the stories are not connected.)
