“Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the naughtiest of them all?”
So let's see... what am I going to say?!
This series is huge and there are a LOT of books (sequels of PLL) and I don't really want to review them all because I hate to review books of series especially when the series is as long as this one... so, maybe this is going to be the last book I'm going to review from the series 'Pretty Little Liars' by Sara Shepard... yes, maybe... because I can always change my mind!
I'm a huge fan of the tv show, I'm like addicted to it... and when I started reading the books I was like 'wow, actually I don't like the books as much as I like the tv show'... and that's true... I like the books because it's the original story but maybe I prefer the 'new story', the tv show story... I think that that's better and even more complete! (in my opinion of course, because the opinions may vary)... I like the characters in the tv show better than I like in the books.... maybe because I'm watching something and not reading it, which is strange since I always prefer the book when there's some book adaptation (to a movie or a tv show)... I don't know how to explain it...
This is the continuation of a BIG plot, there are 5 girls, one of them is 'probably' dead and the other 4 girls that are pretty little liars... (I think that everyone knows the story, but if I don't tell you this this review is going to be too small because I don't know what to say about this book!)
This time the girls are being even more tortured by one person that they don't know... I mean they know that person but they are receiving anonymous messages... and those messages are sign with an A... so they call that person 'A'.
It's on this book that we discover who A is... I mean, we think we discover who A is, and the girls think that know who A is... (I will not tell you because I don't want to spoil you... if you watch the tv show then you already know what I'm talking about)... but, the truth is that maybe A is still around, and maybe they are pretty wrong... maybe they don't really know who A is... maybe there's more than one A!
At the end of the book something happens... Emily thinks that she saw Alison... but supposedly Alison is dead... is that Alison alive after all? or is Emily just hallucinating?!
“Don't believe everything you hear”
I gave to this book 3.5 stars because I can't consider this series one of my favorite series... the tv show is one of my favorites, but the books are not!
I think that I gave to the first book 4 or 4.5 stars, to the second one 3.5 stars, to the third one 3.5 or 4 stars and to this one 3.5 stars... because I just can't imagine myself giving to these books more than 4 or 4.5 stars... I just can't.
There's something really good about the 'reading' of these books.. and that thing is that the writting is quite simple and the reading is really fast... so if you need a book to relax a little, a mystery/contemporary... then yes, I recommend this series... and it is what I read when I need to relax and when I need something not too long (yes, these books have around 200 or 300 pages, which is not too much when you are used to reading dystopias or sci-fi).
